1. About our service
London Cardiology Clinic provides private, non-emergency cardiology consultations. The clinic is operated by Dr Mahmood Ul Hassan, Specialist in Cardiology (GMC no. 6071047).
Our consultations include clinical assessment, 12-lead ECG interpretation, and a written report with recommendations. We do not provide echocardiography, Holter monitoring, ambulatory blood pressure monitoring, CT, MRI, or exercise stress testing. If any of these are required, we will refer you to an appropriate service.
2. Patient eligibility
This clinic is suitable for adults (aged 18 and over) with non-emergency cardiac concerns including:
- Palpitations and heart rhythm disturbances
- ECG interpretation
- Blood pressure / hypertension assessment
- Breathlessness (cardiac assessment)
- Heart murmur assessment
We do not see:
- Patients under 18 years of age
- Patients with known congenital heart disease
- Patients with known heart failure
- Patients with implanted cardiac devices (pacemakers, ICDs)
- Patients with cardiac symptoms during pregnancy
- Patients with chest pain of any kind (including resolved or intermittent)
- Patients with syncope (fainting) or pre-syncope
If you are experiencing a medical emergency, call 999 immediately.
3. Booking and payment
Consultations cost £49.99 for a 30-minute appointment. Payment is taken at the time of booking via Stripe. Your card details are processed securely by Stripe and are never stored by the clinic.
Appointments are available on Friday evenings (17:00–20:00) at 40–44 The Broadway, London SW19 1RQ.
4. Cancellation and refund policy
- Cancellation with more than 48 hours’ notice: full refund
- Cancellation with less than 48 hours’ notice: no refund
- Non-attendance: no refund
- Rescheduling: you may reschedule your appointment free of charge if you provide more than 48 hours’ notice. Use the reschedule link in your booking confirmation email
Refunds are processed via Stripe and typically appear within 5–10 working days.
5. What to bring
Please bring to your appointment:
- A list of your current medications
- A summary of your past medical history
- Any ECG recordings from your GP (if available)
6. Clinical report
Following your consultation, we will prepare a written report with our findings and recommendations. With your explicit consent, this report will be sent to your GP. You will also receive a copy for your records.
7. Scope and limitations
Our service provides a single cardiology assessment and opinion. We do not:
- Initiate or change medications
- Provide ongoing management or follow-up care
- Replace your GP or NHS cardiologist
- Provide emergency or urgent cardiac care
If we identify a condition requiring further investigation or treatment, we will recommend appropriate next steps, which may include referral to NHS services or other specialists.
8. Professional standards
Dr Mahmood practises in accordance with GMC Good Medical Practice guidelines and holds full professional indemnity insurance for private practice. Dr Mahmood is a Specialist in Cardiology working on the consultant rota at the Royal Free Hospital and Barnet Hospital. He does not hold a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) and is not a consultant cardiologist.
9. Escalation and safety
If concerning findings are identified during your consultation, we have clear protocols in place. Depending on urgency, we may:
- Arrange direct referral to hospital
- Contact your GP urgently
- Call emergency services
10. Complaints procedure
We aim to provide the highest standard of care. If you are dissatisfied with any aspect of our service, please follow these steps:
- Contact us directly: email drmahmoodclinic@pm.me with details of your complaint. We will acknowledge your complaint within 3 working days and aim to resolve it within 20 working days.
- If unresolved: you may escalate your complaint to the General Medical Council (GMC) at gmc-uk.org/concerns or call 0161 923 6602.
- Further escalation: you may contact the Parliamentary and Health Service Ombudsman at ombudsman.org.uk or call 0345 015 4033.
11. Limitation of liability
Our consultation provides a clinical opinion based on the information available at the time of your appointment. While we exercise reasonable care and skill, we cannot guarantee specific outcomes. Our liability is limited to the cost of the consultation fee paid.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The “last updated” date will be revised accordingly.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
